ACPI IRQ HOLDER problem
Have problems recently with games such as MOHAA etc freezing whilst online - re-installation makes no difference.
Running DXDIAG shows no problem with the graphics card (GF2 MX400).
Running MS-Info shows this:
Resource Device
IRQ 3 NVIDIA GeForce2 MX/MX 400
IRQ 3 ACPI IRQ Holder for PCI IRQ Steering
Memory Address 0xF0000000-0xF7FFFFFF Intel(R) 845 Chipset to AGP Controller - 1A31
Memory Address 0xF0000000-0xF7FFFFFF NVIDIA GeForce2 MX/MX 400
and
[Problem Devices]
Device PNP Device ID Error Code
ACPI IRQ Holder for PCI IRQ Steering ACPI\*PNP0C0F\0000000E 22
ACPI IRQ Holder for PCI IRQ Steering ACPI\*PNP0C0F\00000010 22
ACPI IRQ Holder for PCI IRQ Steering ACPI\*PNP0C0F\00000011 22
ACPI IRQ Holder for PCI IRQ Steering ACPI\*PNP0C0F\00000012 22
I assume this is whats causing the problem since the problematic ACPI is sharing the same IRQ as the GeForce2.
I don't really understand why there is a problem and am tempted to turn off ACPI steering but worried that this may make things worse.
Anyone else come across this problem and have any suggestions?
Cheers
