So, I just installed new RAM in my Inspiron 1545 laptop. After booting up, the screen displays a psuedo-error "The amount of system memory has changed. If you did not change your memory... To resolve this issue reseat the memory." I have tried this and received the same message. After discovering a question of similar nature in this forum, I have waited for over half an hour with the DVD drive out, only for my computer to do nothing but sit with this message.

What am I doing wrong?
