Go to SolutionD3100 dock does not support MST, DP 1.2 daisy chain?
I've got two U2414H monitors and a DELL D3100 USB 3.0 dock.
I've configured both monitors for DisplayPort 1.2 and successfully extended the desktop in a daisy chain configuration without the dock. However, the best I could do was to mirror the content on both displays (extended display via laptop). So on the advice of a consultant I purchased the D3100.
When the dock connects via DisplayPort to the first, daisy chained to the second, the best I can achieve is the two monitors duplicating each other which is similar to what I can achieve without the dock.
I am specifically interested in getting the daisy chained arrangement to work and don't want to simply use the HDMI port on the back of the 3100 nor the DisplayPort/HDMI on the laptop to connect the second monitor.
How can I make this happen?
Specific Configuration:
Dell Laptop -> USB 3.0 Cable -> 3100 Dock -> Mini DisplayPort on Dock-> Full size DisplayPort-In on First U2414H -> Full size DisplayPort out on First U2414H -> mini DisplayPort on Second U2414H
Both U2414H's are set to DisplayPort 1.2 -> Enable
Expected Result: Three displays visible in Display Configuration, each one extending the desktop.
Actual Result: Two displays visible in Display Configuration, two extended desktops, not three. Second U2414H duplicates display of the first.
Any help would be appreciated.
