After attempting to go from Vista to XP, I have given up and going back to Vista.  It works except no wireless connection.  

I have used the service tag to download drivers.  downloaded all the proper drivers in the proper order.( I'm pretty sure). Do you use all the drivers available or just the most recent or most relevent- for instance I can't see how the Verizon driver is going to help me...? there are 59 of them. I used about 6.  Also, if I download incorrect drivers do they cancel the correct one out or all the drivers in that section are ok to download?

Device manager says the The Network Controller(located in dvd/cd roms?)( pci/ven_14e4&dev_4315&subsys_000b1028&rev_01\4&b04e914&00e1.... is the exact thing if that helps)has no drivers. I can't figure out what it is except that microsoft made it. Does this have anything to do with the dvd\cd-rom drive? that part works fine.

 Also there are three Base System Devices that have no drivers though when it searches for them it does appear to go to a file that has drivers in it (program files\marvell\miniport driver\). All three of them go to the same file.  They all have the same pci number until the last two or three)

 device manager says that the marvell ethernet controller and the conexant modem are working. 

 I tried the drivers cd that came with another 1525(the same one that I used the vista disc from, but there are no 1525 choices in there- only 1440, 1545 and 1750. How wierd is that?  Is one of those perfectly compatible? I've been downloading the ones I want from Dell.

 

Should I reinstall vista again and start over with the drivers? 

 What should I do next? I am stumped
