Alright so my dads work got 3 of these Optiplex 780s (DT size). Trying to just have fun and upgrade 2 for me and my bro. So keep in mind the items must have availability or if there are other options for the upgrade.

CPU-

Trying to upgrade the CPU to Quad core, I've read around a little but I'm wondering if the MOBO supports any cheapish Quad CPUs... 

Like this: Intel SLB8V Core 2 Quad Q9550 2.83GHz?????

GPU-

Wondering if a full size GPU will fit on that GPU bracket extension holder... :Wink:

RAM-

IK it has to be DDR2 but someone says it maxes at 16gb, but the manual i think says max at 8 with 2gb max per slot???? what is the real max, and what is max PER SLOT

COOLING-

And if heat may be a problem what type of coolers can install that may be better... (I can try modding the case to fit oversized things).

Or is a case fan somewhere a better idea... but i think there needs to be a fan header on the MOBO right??????????

PSU-

If I get a big GPU and CPU I wanna have a better PSU to support the system. Are there PSUs that are small? I can try to just have a support system for the PSU to hold it up.

ALSO definitely not watercooling FIRST it's not within my skills, SECOND i'm not trying to BOOST this thing out, just want it to run some games while keeping it cheap.

LAST QUESTION-

If i upgrade anything is there anything regarding like BIOS i have to do before i do this stuff???
