I've just boughit an external eSata Drive (Freecom Hard Drive Pro/3,5"/USB2.0/ESATA), for backup  (eSata for the speed)

I have VISTA and XP installed on my XPS 420, two internal hard-disks in Raid0 (Stripe) (2x233 GB=466 GB).  
South Bridge Intel 82801IR ICH9R, North Bridge Intel Beachwood X38. Intel(R) Matrix Storage Manager in the bios

I have enabled the external SATA drive, by the bios.

VISTA and XP does not recognize the new Freecom drive.

When the computer starts up the led's on the Freecom drive lighten-up. (When i disable the external SATA drive in the BIOS the leds do nothing).

When i connect the USB cable the Freecomm drive is recognized by VISTA and XP.

What can be the problem whit the eSATA connection. Does i have to remove the RAID0 configuration or are there other solutions to get the External SATA drive running.

PS: I have just run the Dell Diagnostic Version A1340A0 from the bootable CD: the External Freecom eSATA drive is recognized. Idnr:SONFJ1NQ1O1759. All harddrive test passed without any faillure!!!
