I added a NEC 16X DVDRW Model ND-3540A to my Dimension 8400 (internal drive). I left the Philips DVDRW DVD8631 installed that came with the machine. Nero CD/DVD Speed test finds the NEC running at an average write speed of 1.38X while the Philips writes at an average 7.94X. I am running NERO Burning ROM VER 6.6.0.15 checked for updated WIN XP drivers but found none. I found an firmware update for the NEC ND-3530A on Dell Support but none for the NEC ND-3540A. I need to duplicate multiple DVDs. Any help would be appreciated to get this DVD burner up to speed.
