Optiplex GX60 Ethernet Driver
I had to re-install Win XP for first time two months ago. I managed to get all the drivers installed and all my hardware working, except for Ethernet. Since the reinstall I must connect all my Dells wifi from the Broadband - wifi router setup. (I use the GX60 as "main") Anyone know the secret handshake for getting the Dell Ethernet driver to install properly? The GX60 or Win XP SP2 also "lost" my USB external DVD\CD RW burner. It just suddenly lost it (after reinstall of XP) and nothing I do will re-recognize it, regardless of which port I try. I pull USB pen drives off and on all the time, no problem. but I can run my external DVD\CD RW on every Dell PC I own, except the GX60. I have reinstalled XP on my Dimension 2300 several times, no problem. BTW, Belarc Advisor does not show me having an ethernet card or an external usb DVD\CD unit, though it shows my external USB hard drive even when powered off.I know it works because the leds flash like they should when I connect the Cable Modem ethernet cable.
