My antivirus program said I had a trojan horse which it was unable to remove.  I have tried to start over by following the owner's manual to reinstall Windows XP.  Everything seems to be working, but then I get a black screen with the message "unable to display this video mode" which seems to be code for "you are doomed."  What do I need to do to get XP reinstalled?
