G5 5500 purchased in late July. Just recently had time to play games on it. During nearly every gaming session, laptop will blue screen briefly, showing a "locking" message. Screen turns off, followed by fans. Hitting a button wakes the system back up, all apps still running. Contacted Dell Support, who have ran me through updating the BIOS and all drivers, set battery critical actions to "do nothing", ran through hardware troubleshooting and diags, both come out clear. They say it is a software issue, but I will have to pay 99.00 for software support. On my own research, I have found in the Event Viewer that each of these occurrences shows a Kernel-Power event 42 immediately preceded by a Kernel-Power event 187. The 187 events are an API call to SetSuspendState from WUFDHost.exe. That is where I am stuck. I don't think it is old enough to be a battery issue, and I am not comfortable taking it apart to take it out to find out. I have installed ThrottleStop to monitor temps and turn off TurboBoost, run the laptop on an external cooling fan pad,  I just want to be able to play games on my gaming laptop.
