Do you need Dell oem psu replacement? If yes, 850w or 460w? 850w is D850EF-00. used one available on eBay. less expensive option is to buy new non-Dell 850w ATX psu from EVGA etc.
You want a standard ATX PSU with Dimensions: 140 mm (L) x 150 mm (W) x 86 mm (H). Any longer than 140mm will use up your cable management space. Consider a fully modular PSU so the cables you do not need can stay in the box. This is one example Seasonic Focus
Thank you. Can you order directly from seasonic or do you have a recommended place to order this from? I could not see where I could order this at this link. I am pretty computer smart but buying the parts is where I am still a beginner and quickly learning. Lol...I am a photographer not a gamer so building computers/buying parts is not my specialty lol. Also do you recommend the 850?
You spewed this same talking point 3 years ago when I bought my Seasonic Focus 850 watt PSU, and it has worked flawlessly ever since. Many others have had a similar flawless experience with the Seasonic Focus as replacement power supply in the Alienware and XPS series computers. Thank you for the warning.
Even 1000W Seasonic units that do not have 220W combined for 3.3v 5v rail also do not meet spec. So choose wisely. Even Dell 875W unit reserves 225W for this rail set. 32 AMPS and 30 AMPS not 90 to 130W 20 amps 25 amps.
Note Changes in EPS12v Spec 2.9.X
Note Seasonic Focus GX series NONE of them are ATX12v or EPS12v spec as far as the 3.3v/5v rails combined. Power supplies are not a single rail nor a single spec of WATTS.

@ProfessorW00d
125W or LESS combined 3.3v/5v power is not up to Dell standards.
NONE of the seasonic Focus series meets DELL Spec.

Note 140W - 225W for Dell 850 or Dell 875W

Seasonic 1000W units do not meet DELL Spec of 150W-225W combined power for the 3.3v/5v rails.
EVGA 10-BQ-0850-V1 B01FYDUCA0
Does.
Dell 875W has 32 and 30 amps on the 3.3v/5v rails 225W
You will need optical power adapter
CRJ SATA Power 15-Pin Male to SATA 6-Pin

Yes, I suggest 850 watt fully modular B & H
The 850 watt PSU is very popular, so there is less stock available than other wattages.

The Aurora R9 did not come with an optical drive option.

This was my little adventure with the power supply in my R9...but you do need to know what you are doing...https://www.dell.com/community/Alienware-Desktops/Aurora-R9-Adventures-with-power-supplies/m-p/7720150#M34145
I am happy to report it has worked flawlessly since installation.

Power Supply for R5 R6 R7 R8 R9 R10 works across units.
Even the 460W units have 140W on the 3.3v/5v Rails.
