The Predator 1 case was iconic for the brand Alienware in my opinion. They were launched in 2003 and had nothing to do with Dell in those days. The case based on the chieftec CS-601 case and standards-based components could be used.

The R10 was my first Alienware. Will also be my last, unless Alienware makes better design decisions.

first AW is also a Dell first. It is called Area 51 Phobos. Not ALX, just a case with AW power supply. Managed to put another Dell X58 motherboard inside and get it going. It was a thrill to see the LED light work the first time, but now I am not impressed with the curvy outline of case using way too much plastic shell skin. Its hinged door is also a bad design.
