Alienware 17 R3 will not boot. Three Beeps and Blank Screen.

Well finally got time to actually turn on my new Alienware R3 With Windows 10 factory fresh and when I

turned it on I get 3 beeps, a short pause, and 3 beeps over and over, plus the screen is blank.

I read that means a memory problem?

Dells support site.

Prefer do-it-yourself support? Let's get started.

Dell support offers a variety of resources and tools to help you identify and resolve issues, as well as tutorials, how-to videos and more.

Customer.

No I prefer to have a brand new system turn on and work.

A Blank screen and 4 beeps is not what I paid over $3000 for.

Problem?

Dell.

These beeps are part of our self test built into our laptops.

The system comes with a self test.

Customer.

Oh really? It Beeps!

Dell.

Do you know what a self test is?

Customer.

Yeah,

You plug it in and it don't work! Yeah good job, that's a self test!

I could do a self test on myself, I can take a freaking knife and stick it in my finger and see if blood comes out, hey yeah that's a self test!

Dell.

Four or five beeps, lets us know what's wrong with the system.

Customer.

Yeah it don't work!

You sent me a freaking broke system!

Now take your freaking beeping system the beep back and give me a new one!

Dell.

Sir,the new policy is, sorry it has to go to depot to get fixed.

Customer.

Why? Why does a brand new system DOA slip through quality control

and not be replaced with a new one?

Dell.

Sir, maybe we are getting into too much detail.

Customer.

No we are not!

Take this broken system back and send me what I freaking paid for!!

The time for being nice and having patience expired a long time ago. What you received and how it was handled (perhaps not handled to be accurate) is deplorable.

If you are in the United States I would file a complain with the Better Business Bureau and press hard for a refund. They have wasted your time and money long enough.

You can also send a tweet to Michael Dell and send him an email to michael at dell dot com.The email to Mr. Dell has proven effective in the past for Alienware owners that are not getting proper service. Not sure if that still holds true, but you need to take action since nobody is helping you.

I could not read what the UEFI Diagnostics was saying or what device it was testing. Was it an error, or was it just asking for user intervention to complete the sub-component test? The UI in these UEFI-Diags are often pretty crude (on all machines ... since it's tiny code that must fit in BIOS), but in general I have found them helpful in testing and trouble-shooting core malfunctions.

If it was an actual error, obviously that is not good.

I wonder what happens when Windows loads and runs?

It took me around a month or so of them coming to my house twice, with 2 depot send ins as well to finally diagnose it as a faulty motherboard. But 3 months is getting redundantly absurd.

I would write them on Facebook in a message, linking all of this and showing them what you went through. I was contacted by an assistant of Michel (founder of Dell/chairman) himself, telling me that it had became escalated. Even had a proper english speaking person call me within an hour.

Hopefully that helps....!

Heres his official email too.

Nope not an input error.

It's called a company without quality control.
