17 R1, gtx 1070m upgrade problem
So i have a problem that I need help with.
I upgraded my alienware 17 r1 2014 with a gtx 1070m with a 330w charger and my mosfet chips for the power connector were getting scorching hot and burned out when playing games.
I replaced the board with a new one but the problem persists
I tried the 240w charger but the are still hot.
I can't find anyone that had the same problem with the upgrade and to be honest I'm a little lost here and would need some help.
I was thinking of taking the laptop to my laptop technician and asking him to replace the chips in the new board with more powerfull ones if that would fix the problem
My specs are
Intel i7-4900MQ
Gtx 1070m (previously gtx 780m)
32GB RAM
330w charger
60hz screen
Motherboard 5RWOM 2XJJ7 41W46 LA-9331P
VAS00-01
Here is the picture of the old board with the burned chips
