Alienware AW920H

Hello, would anyone be able to help me with the Mic quality on the AW920h headphones?

On online comms, i often hear that my voice sounds like im in a fish bowl. I've recorded myself and it definitely sounds pretty bad. I'm using the boom mic and 2.4ghz dongle and USBC adaptor. I've tried it via bluetooth, via a usbc socket directly and also via the audio cable. It either sounds the same or worse each time.

I've updated both the drivers to the latest firmware, and updated Alienware command centre, but there's no options apart from the lighting effects anyway. All Windows updates are up to date.

In windows I can see Outputs for AW920H Chat and AW920H Game Output, to which i'm using Game. But on the sound inputs i can only see AW920H Chat.
On going into the chat, i can see the Format is set to Tape Recorder Quality and i can't select any other options. Windows says the driver is Generic USB Audio and it's up to date.

Is this normal and the mic isn't great quality or is there something wrong?
