Registering a host without HBA

Hello everybody, nice to meet you!

I'm trying to integrate a CX4-240 into SCOM environnement. I had to create a VM, who will work as a monitoring station.

The issue is: I installed the unisphere Agent in the VM, and i'm unable to register as a host in the CX with it's IP.

Any tips to make it work?

Thanks in advance,

Javier

You can register ESX HBAs only with the storage. Disks can be provisioned to the VMs through RDM or Datastores.

Please refer below mentioned document page 50.. Hope this may clear your question regarding Host registration/connetivity with the Array….

If it is a iSCSI connectivity you need to use host iSCSI iqn no’s to register the Host in the array……

I don't need any storage nor attaching luns.... I just need to register my host to the CX

The question is: it is possible to register a host without an HBA? just with it's IP?

Are you sure Suman?

You cannot even register a host with an iscsi target?

dynamox, adding a user entry in the agent.conf will make some change ?

You mean that I have to set the IP of the host directly on the SP?
