Can you check if all the drive's LED activity indicator are all lit green: https://dell.to/3Yi7yQc
Here's what you can do, power cycle all enclosures and controllers bringing the controllers online after 3 minutes if they have spinning disks, to allow the spinning drives to come online fully.
If the system still does not see disks, you could have bad modules, cables or midplane, begin troubleshooting piece by piece to determine what is failed.
I do not understand the link with a post that indicates how to turn off the storage.
Can anyone here help me? I no longer have support for this product, which I paid very dearly for. Dell is going to sell me a service for one of their products that no longer works, even though this product costs more than 30kEUR. This is frankly inadmissible as a support policy.
You can enter safe mode and run the initialize again at both controllers. If the disks is compatible with compellent, the count down will be stopped. If you have any issue, let me know.
i face same issue after trying to restart my SC4020 and cleaned configuration, both controlers are now out of sync, and loop on booting wainting a valid configuration.
i've removed all other externals disk enclosure. but same infinite loop.
but i'm not able to enter Ctrl+S ... and Admin/mmm didn't work during time countdown before reboot !!!
Hi, if you have tried the steps under this thread, then I will recommend you to contact the support team. Because try to bring the internal SAS ports back to an operational state by repositioning the controller in the chassis. If this doesn't solve the issue, proceed to a higher level of troubleshooting. On the infrequent chance that a power event causes the internal SAS ports on both controllers to fail, it will then be necessary to address both controllers. And need to be replaced.
Hi Erman, I had succeeded for the first time in correctly initializing the two controllers, but I had not saved the licenses.
when I got them back from DELL/Compelent support, I wanted to restart from scratch and that's when I did something wrong on the controllers, only one was correctly reseted and on the other I didn't I haven't managed to clear all the configuration, so it can't start. My problem is interrupting the reboot cycle to start from the factory, however I cannot log in or enter Crtl+S when the controller asks for it.
I agree with Erman at this point. I would recommend contacting support and work directly with an engineer. There are steps they can take that risk all data loss if not done correctly and are not permitted to send out as you need to work with an engineer.

What drives are you running in the storage?

Hi @Channelss,
You can give this post reply by Rob,a try: https://dell.to/3l4FJfV
If this fails, you may need to contact the support to check and guide you to recover the storage.

Hello Channelss,
This Knowledge Base article describes the issue you are seeing.
You may need to log in, or create an account and log in, to see the article.
Article Number: 000137491
SC Series: SCv20x0 and SC4020 controllers continuously rebooting
https://www.dell.com/support/kbdoc/en-us/000137491
Attempt to restore the internal SAS ports to an "Up" state by reseating the controller in the chassis.
If that does not work you would need to call into Support and work with an engineer that can do a remote session with you.
If you do not have an active warranty you can ask about a Post Standard Support contract for support.

Hello Channelss,
Yes that is why I mention: You may need to log in, or create an account and log in, to see the article.
Do you see "Create an account" on the right-hand side of the page.

Hello Channelss,
Attempt to restore the internal SAS ports to an "Up" state by reseating the controller in the chassis.
If that does not resolve then you should, as Joey mentioned, contact Support directly and have an engineer do a remote session to work with you.
The forum is not designed for this type of engagement. You need to work directly with Support
If you do not have an active warranty you can ask about renewing a warranty or Post Standard Support contract to work the issue.
