Invalid credentials

Hello,

we are unable to login with our domain credentials since all the users login names consist of "name.surname" while non-alphanumeric characters seem to be blocked (I got the error when trying to create a local user in the same format). I could setup directory services all right and even the test connection using my "name.surname" login was successful. Please see the screenshots below.

Could you please let me know how to workaround or fix this?

Thank you for your response in advance.

Best regards,

Michal Kopecny

So not sure what i am missing then. I have added via manual and entered the IP's of our Domain Controllers.

I then added the groups via "Import Directory Users" and was able to browse and find the respective test groups.

When I tried logging in via my AD account, nothing works...

- domain.local\username

- domain\username

- username@domain.local

What am I missing? Which domain + username format should be user?

Can confirm changing the FQDN to an IP Address resolves the issue and I am able to log in with AD Credentials.

one user has no special character (. or _) and that's not working either...

Which format should I be using?

Hi Peter,

We were looking at a problem when the users have a dot or underscore.  Do you have any of these?

Peter,

Well I think we are reviewing dots and underscores to see if we can fix that in an upcoming release.  At this point, there may be some limitations there.

But I wonder if you manually entered a single IP address or multiple IPs?  If multiple, can you try just a single for debugging purposes?

Thanks,

Rob

just one IP specified in the dirctory service. Test connection button works fine. But still cannot use AD cred to login.  I am frustrated that the audit log provides no clue as to where it's failing (talking to DC/GC? User not found? password incorrect?)

Hi Peter,

Ok, I'm out of ideas on this one.  We may need you to open a support ticket to see if those folks can dig into this a bit more.

I'll put the phone number here, but I need to enter it in a goofy format since this forum software strips out a lot of numbers.

Thx

Rob

Is support able to support this product which is still in tech release stage?

Yes, via that phone number in the previous post.

Thanks much,

In addition to the active directory login issues we had troubles to login because we have multiple subdomains in our organisation and it turns out we have the same admin accounts over there as well.

for example

foo.local -> admin user 999admin

sub1.foo.local -> admin user 999admin

sub2.foo.local -> admin user 999admin

the user foo\999admin from the root domain is member from the group added to the administrator role in DellOme.

We can't login with this user and get an invalid credentials error message in return. We have no issues with other unique users login in from this group!

The solution was to delete the same users in our subdomains then everything works perfectly.

Thanks @Stijnvdv

Are you seeing multiple groups with the same name in the "Available Groups" pane?

I'll pass this along to the right folks for review and to address.

Thanks,

Rob

Any fix yet for the dot in the username?

This is what worked for me, sorry for the "art" below.

Directory name: yourdomainname.here

Server name/address: MANUAL and enter IP of domain controller

Yes, that is a workaround, thanks for posting.

Not dot fix yet...The team is still hard at work on the next release.  I'll post any update info if I here anything else.

Thanks!

Rob

Hello,

have you been successfull to fix this issue? I am facing the same problems today, fresh appliance deployment and AD login configured with imported groups. Unfortunately it behaves the same like guys described earlier, login with admin account is working but with domain account it is not possible. I tried also workaround with manual IP setup but no success as well.

Can you please give some advise?

Thank you.

PS: The strangest thing is that it worked for some time period when appliance has been deployed - let's say few days....but after week it stopped to work and nothing changed in our infrastructure.

EDIT: Solved by changing the AD groups....someone or some tool for access management removed members in allocated role based AD groups...
