Error when running system updates
I've upgraded to the latest version of OME v2.0.1 of which I did not run into any issues. However, after the update, any time I try to run any system updates on any of our servers, whether that be in-band or out-of-band, they fail.
Many of our servers have an OS Drivers Pack update (old 7.0.4.10/ new 14.10.000) , but I am unable to run this update. For in-band updates, I get a message as seen here:
In fact, I get this same message when I try to run the update directly from the server by downloading the package and running the installer.
There are a few PERC driver updates on some other servers as well, so I am going to try and run those this evening to see if they are successful. My guess is that it is an issue with the OS Driver Pack update itself.
Any ideas of what could be going on here? Let me know if you need any other information.
Thanks,
B-rock

I have confirmed that other updates (such as a driver update for PERC card) were successful. So it appears to be an issue with the 14.10.0 OS Driver Pack package/update. Anybody else run into anything similar?
Thanks,

Hi,
Can you please confirm which OS do you have on the servers where you are facing the problem with OS driver pack 14.10.0?

Hi,
Thanks for your post.
Ques: Have you discovered the In-Band(OS IP), only OOB(iDRAC IP) or both In-Band & OOB IP?
By the time you send us the confirmation on OS and prefered discovery IP. Looking at the error message i somehow suspect it to be a Hardware issue, as in "iDRAC" and "LifeCycle" Controller could be in bad state.
I would recommend you to check below points which might help:
1. Check Virtual Media status should be set to "Detach. Set it to Detach mode, (if it is not) and then try running the udpate task again for the OS Driver Pack.
2. Check there should be no pending jobs in iDRAC, via command from a remote command prompt:
winrm e cimv2/root/dcim/DCIM_LifecycleJob -u:username -p:password -r:https:// /wsman:443 -SkipCNCheck -SkipCACheck -SkipRevocationCheck -auth:basic -encoding:utf-8
Just replace the IDRAC ip with your idrac ip and the provide the proper username and password. There should not be pending jobs in the job queue.
3. Press F2 > iDRAC Settings > Lifecycle Controller > Clear Job "Yes", Save and exit.
4. Do power cycle (Disconnect the power cable)
Now, after performing all above steps try to run the task again and let us know if that works.
Keep us posted!
Thanks

The OS is either 2008 R2 or ESXi 5.5, so I have the same issue on all 20 servers whether the update is in-band or out-of-band.
Thanks,

For the 2008 R2 servers, I have discovered them via their in-band IP, but for the ESXi hosts, I have discovered them via their out-of-band/DRAC IP.
If it were a hardware issues, I wouldn't expect it to affect 20 servers all at the same time and with the same update as well as the fact that all other updates whether in-band or out-of-band still work just fine. I'll stick work through the steps listed above and write back once I have some more information.
Thanks!

Hi,
It looks like the MAS partition has got corrupted with this DUP. It is a possibility but cannot be confirmed unless seen. Will it be possible for you to log a trouble ticket @800-945-3355 so that it can be looked upon by the support guys? Please update the TT number here so that we can track the process.
