Call your Internet Service Provider (IsP) and see if there server is down. Try turning off Norton E-mail Scan.

You can edit some other options also by going to TOOLS ACCOUTNS MAIL TAB. -GdS

And, while you're at it, ask the ISP if the Secure Sockets Layer (SSL)
is required. If not, remove it from your options in your email program.
