Can I add different RAM amounts to my Laptop?
Hello! I have a Dell Inspiron 7567 Laptop with a single module of 8GB DDR4 RAM.
I got an Overstock giftcard for Christmas ($50), and was wondering If it's possible to add a 4GB RAM module to go along with my 8GB, for 12GB RAM total?
Thanks for your help!
This is the one I would get:

That is not a configuration that is certified by Dell. You can have totals of 4, 8, 16, and 32 GB. But not 12, and with 12 it would not run in dual channel anyway.

Thanks, I ended up buying the Crucial 8GM SoDimm DDR4 stick to go with my existing 8GB. Is there anything special I have to do or just throw it in?
