Thanks all for replies. Issue was with the new replacement hard disk I got. That was a faulty one. Got a new one after returning faulty new hard disk and system is working fine now.

Thanks for the reply. Mine is a 4 year old laptop. Will check if it's CMOS issue. If I run diagnostics it shows the same hard disk error. No other errors other than that.

This forum post may help. It could also be a CMOS battery problem but on a 2 year old system that is unlikely. Run diagnostics (F12 immediately at boot) and watch for any errors though I suspect the drive will test fine.

I'd suggest reseating new hard drive. Please make sure 4 screws that secure hard-drive assembly is screw in correctly. Keep in mind, one loose screw can cause a error on the hard drive. After, boot into the BIOS and make sure the Hard drive is detected. If the new hard drive is detected, boot into windows and then update hard drive in device manager.

Just type Device Manager onto the search box, expand Disk Drives in device manager, right click new hard drive, select Update. Hopefully computer work normally now and without any error message appearing.

Thanks for the reply. Let me try. But as I mentioned earlier it recognises hard disk boot to windows and works fine. Issue starts again on next day.

If you haven't done so yet, update hard drive in device manager or check the hard drive manufacturer website to see if there's a firmware update on it.

Thanks for the quick response....

By the way, what is name of the hard drive ? Seagate, Western, Kington ?
