I had the same problem today. I just uninstalled the My Dell app and then installed Dell Power Manager. I only used the Power portion of My Dell anyway. I did open a ticket with Support Assist but none of the suggestions by the advisor worked

I am also having this problem. Tried repair, reset, then uninstall. Now it won't reinstall. Stuck in the update loop.

I tried booting up the My Dell app this morning to check on the status of my All-in-One which is just a little over a year old.  Stated there was an update, can't use the app without updating.  It won't update.  It starts to install the update, and then just reverts to the original 'you need to update' window.  I uninstalled the app, went to the Microsoft Store and downloaded it again. Same problem.

So... every Dell I've owned (this is my third one) has had problems with the My Dell app.  I won't be fooled again.  Fortunatley, I have a five-year warranty with Costco, where I just purchased this computer so I will ask them for how to proceed on this.

I won't buy another Dell computer every again.  I promise Dell that.

The problem still persists not yet a solution, I have taken the steps dell advised, but without success. The update to windows 11, still the update loop, didn't help. Has anyone here come up with anything to solve the problem?

Yes.  The solution is to delete the app and forget about it.
Windows (10 and 11) has all the maintenance tools you need to do the exact same thing the My Dell app does.  There are also third party apps that perform the same functions.

  • Thank you for the link.  It solved the problem.
I just don't understand why support is so clueless about these issues.
It was a fairly easy fix, after all.
Thanks to this community of users, though... problems generally get solved.
I guess that saves Dell a bit of $$ in not having to hire support people, eh?
Let the customer figure things out then share that here.
    Whatever.
It's fixed, so I'll stop complaining until the next problem arises.
    Thanks again.
