No Boot Device Found

I had an update two nights ago and after the update, it keeps showing the No Boot Device Found page. I tried diagnostics and no problem was directed there. I ran the test twice and also changed the boot to legacy and UEFI. I tried changing the things on BIOS set up multiple times nothing seems to work. What can I do now?

If you changed to UEFI in the BIOS then you may have already rendered Windows unable to boot. But first things first. It may be that the MBR is either corrupt or missing. If diagnostics shows no errors then the drive is probably fine. This forum post should help and this web site as well. Also tap F2 at boot and check your boot priorities. It may be that Windows Boot Manager is no longer the first option.

I couldn’t figure out how to reply to private messages, I don’t have any options for this. Anyway my laptop is Inspiron 15 and service tag is .

Please run the Diagnostic tool to check hard drive on the system by following steps below:

1. Power off system

2. Power on system, quickly tap the F12 key continuously until you see Preparing one time boot menu in the top right corner of the screen. In the boot menu, stroll down to Diagnostic and then click it. After quick tests, click on Hard Drive and then Thorough Test Mode.  Report back any error code.

I did it and there wasn't any error. For both of the tests, no problem was detected.

You probably should put the BIOS back to UEFI.

You could try creating a UEFI bootable USB flash drive using Media Creation Tool on another PC.

Try booting it into it and see if you can repair the hard drive.
