Some Questions about an old Optimus Laptop

I have a Dell Inspiron 7567. i7-7700HQ+GTX 1050 Ti 4GB.

in Nvidia's control panel under PhysX, it is shown that the laptop's display is connected to the Intel's iGPU but the HDMI port is connected to the Nvidia's dGPU(1050 Ti).

1- Can I disable Optimus for the laptop's display ? (couldn't find anything in the BIOS)

2- If I connect the laptop to an external monitor through the HDMI -OUT port on the laptop, Is Optimus bypassed/disabled ?

3- Under Manage 3D Settings, For Global and Program settings, should I use Nvidia's control panel to set Preferred Graphics Processor ? or Should I use Windows settings ? (Settings->System->Display->Graphics settings). Windows doesn't have an option for global settings ? it only sets the Preferred Graphics Processor per program ?

1.  No.  There's no physical connection between the nVidia GPU and display panel.  The Intel GPU is hardwired to the internal display.

2.  Yes.  The external output is  hardwired to the nVidia GPU.

3.  The nVidia control panel is preferable.

To receive assistance from Dell chat support, they need to verify the warranty status and ownership. Then you must troubleshoot with them.  Click the "Get Help Now" icon on the right to start a live chat session. If already out of warranty, click here for the Dell out of warranty offering.
