turning on bluetooth
How do I turn on a Bluetooth that has been paired, but in the Settings Bluetooth & Other Devices page is shown to be turned off? The "connect" button is grey and unresponsive.

What is the exact Dell model number for your computer? Example: Dell Inspiron 3048
If you don't know, type msinfo32 onto search box, look for System Model in the System Information application.
In the meantime, check in device manager to see if there are any Bluetooth drivers listed. Type Device Manager onto search box
Here is an image of my Bluetooth drivers.

Following your instructions, I've attempted a number of times to download the Bluetooth drivers with no success.
I'm, unfortunately, accepting that my Dell 17 7000 laptop is going to become the last computer I will utilize, after a 16" Lenovo Thinkbook and a 17.3" HP laptop on Amazon that has all the features this Dell has that were the reason I purchased it (fingerprint reader, touch screen) plus more, including a 4 year protection plan, for under $900.

Thanks for your help.
I have a Inspiron 7786
When I checked my device manager, I discovered that I have NO Bluetooth Drivers. I must have had them before, because I was successfully using a Bluetooth microphone. I'm guessing I need to download the drivers. How do I do this?

Hello
Since your computer had Bluetooth drivers, run Bluetooth troubleshooter utility to find the drivers. Type Troubleshooter onto search box, select Additional Troubleshooters, Bluetooth, and then Run.
If the Bluetooth still doesn't install, you can install the driver from your Dell Product Support page.
Support for Inspiron 7786 2-in-1 | Drivers & Downloads | Dell US
Or....
Let Dell Support Assist application on the computer find Bluetooth driver and other much needed drivers and firmware for the computer. Just Type Dell Support Assist onto search box - see video below):
