Any experience with the E 1705 and E 1505

I have a Inspiron 8100 that is over 4 years old and am looking at the new E 1705 and E 1505. Does any one have any experience with these. Understand they are new and there may not be many out there. The 1505 has no video card options. Comes with the Intel graphics media accelerator 950. The 1705 has an option that is the 256 ATI Mobility Radeon X 1400 hypermemory. Is that a much better video card.

Can the Dell Combo AC/DC power adaptor that is a 1505 option but not for the 1705 be used with the 1705. I note that the second battery whr's are differant for the two. do not know if that is a size issue or power issue.

Am thinking that I would upgrade now before the new Microsoft operating system as I know and understand the current one. Any thoughts on taking the chance the 8100 will last until the new operating system is out late this year.

Appreciate any thoughts advice anyone can give. This forum has been very helpful in the past.

My experience with the 8100 has been fairly good.

If it tips the balance, the 1505 will be available with the ATI X1300 and X1400 video cards as well - sometime in the near future.

No doubt Quanta is ramping up production of the units, and they've not achieved full production yet.

What are you looking to do with the computer?  If you want a decent gaming machine, don't even consider the X1400.  It is horrible. And when I mean horrible, I mean horrible.

Take a look at the notebook video card benchmarks before you buy:
