Bluetooth on Com port 40
I have some software on my laptop for downloading data from a remote weatherstation. (Davids weatherlink 5.7.1) I want to down load whilst i myself am not office based and therefore want to use my mobile phone as the modem, my phone being connected to my laptop via bluetooth.
When i "connect" to the weatherstation this software askes for the com port for the modem. The Bluetooth connection appears to be on a com port40.
This appears to be a "virtual?" port and the software does not search to this higher number.
How do i assign the bluetooth to a serial port number that the software can find?
I had a nice chat session with kimberly bangit at Dell support but we could not resolve the issue - so before i do as her name suggests...
Any suggestions or instructions much apreciated.
Rgds
