Dell Inspiron 1300 Upgrade Options
I own a Dell Inspiron 1300 Laptop with the following specs:
CPU: Intel Celeron M 1.5 GHz
HDD: Fujitsu (MHV2040AH) 40gig
RAM: 256MB
Motherboard:0GD366
My question is as follows: What is the biggest harddrive (capacity wise) that will be compatible with my laptop?
Will it be possilble to fit a Seagate Momentus 7200.2 ?(http://www.seagate.com/www/en-us/products/laptops/momentus/momentus_7200.2/)
I have contacted Dell Support about the upgrade options via their website and got no reply.

120G at the BIOS level; EIDE (parallel ATA) - NOT SATA.

I've got one just like it - my questions are, can I change the Celeron for a Pentium? What socket is used on the mobo?

You can use a Pentium M, yes - as long as the bus speed is 400 MHz. Max is the Pentium M 765. None of the Core CPUs are supported, though.

The answer to those Seagates is no - they're all SATA, which the B130/1300 doesn't support.

I also have a dell inspiron 1300 and want to put in a larger hard drive but am unclear if my computer will take a drive larger than 137 gb. It is my understanding to have a hard drive larger than 137 gb you need a bios that supports 48-lba and a motherboard that supports 48-lba. The motherboard in my computer is 0gd366 and the bios version is a04 which I could update to a10. I have tried to find the specs for this motherboard without success and can't seem to find the answer anywhere. So maybe you know the answer to where I can put in a 320 gb hard drive.
I am confused by your response above that they are limited to 120 gb at the bios level. Couldn't they just update therir bios and then they could put in a larger hard drive. Thanks for your help in advance.
