Inspiron 15R 5537. Noise when earphone is connected.

When ever a browser window (both Chrome and IE) or music player opened , noise starts in earphone. Noise is very much annoying.

It stops a few seconds after the browser/music player is closed.

I bought my lap top in December.

What's the solution for this. ?

Jimco,

yes, as you said replacing mother board also didn't solve the issue.

To make it worse what happened after replacing the mother board is the fan/hard disc sound is highly prominent and annoying. I noticed this only after the tech left my place.

I have escalated the issue and they are working on it. I expect a solution soon.

Thank you!

Make it +1 for the issue... this is so annoying. However I have the new Dell Latitude 3540... it has the 4200U haswell processor and I've tried everything... no luck still getting the hissing.  It goes away based on the dell power savings. If you open your dell audio and click power management, it will show you how many seconds before the system audio cuts off and you get silence.  The default is 30 seconds.  I had a onsite tech come and replace the system board but the issue persists...He heard the issue with his own earbuds as well. Got a new Case open and Dell is giving me the option to get the system board replaced AGAIN... or send the laptop to the dell depot for 7-10 days and have their techs look into it... Sigh... hope a fix comes soon. It is not as bad with over the ear headphones, but with ear buds its bad! I was thinking it was a windows 8/8.1 issue but it seems people have the issue on windows 7 so I guess its not worth downgrading the OS to see if the issue persists. My gut tells me it will be there.

I am also having this problem with my new Inspiron 5537. When the Dell Audio power management starts, the sounds disappears. Have you found a solution yet?

no solution. I think it's the problem with all the laptops, at least in this series. Why because Dell sent me a new 5537 lap top. That was also having the same issue. The frustration and disappointment against Dell is beyond I can express in words. Imagine, they sent me a new lap top due to some issue in the old one and now the new lap top is having exactly the same issue. What kind of quality check process is Dell having.. Or are they having something like that ?!!

and again, the new lap top they sent is having a display problem, one horizontal line on the LCD which their tech confirmed that the LCD is faulty.

Fed up of Dell!

Having the same issue with my latitude 3540 from Brazil... I have a VSonic VSD1S and the noise is horrendous.

I am now considering buying a DAC. But then, has anyone got success with Dell Support?

I reverted to default Win 8.1 driver and the noise is significantly reduced

Hello. This is an owner-to-owner forum and  even though sometimes Dell "social media" people post on it, they don't stick with an issue for long and I doubt that they have deep contacts in the company. Probably the best bet is to directly contact tech support<ADMIN NOTE: Broken link has been removed from this post by Dell> . They might not be of much help but at least the problem will have been reported to them.

Same here happened on my Dell Inspiron 3537 i7 model also, which is very annoying. From the Dell Maxx Audio settings, it would go away if you turn on the audio Power Management, set to lowest 3 secs, but as soon the audio is playing it came back again. But at least I have my earphones have audio volume control, don't set it to the max and it is not so noticeable.
