Laptop ground loop problem.

Hello i have a pretty old Dell inspiron 1525 that i finally got back to working condition and plan to use it for simple stuff since its pretty slow. it has a ground loop problem though and its very annoying. i have 2 chargers one from the dell, its the original charger then one from a compaq, they have the same ratings and such but dell laptop have that annoying protection circuit to it only charges with "correct chargers" so even though these to are identical it wont work. that would be fine but the charger that does work has a ground loop problem so when its plugged in my tv, sound system, and laptop speakers all fuzzz, and the touch pad on the laptop doesnt work half the time. so 2 questions i guess. is there a way to fix the ground loop problem or a way to make the battery charge without the original charger, i can use the laptop with my other charger but the battery wont charge.

Thanks for any help.

The answer is no - you need a working OEM Dell adapter to charge the battery.

so there is no way to fix the ground loop problem because getting another cheap *** dell charger seems like a bad idea since it wont even fix the issue.

If it doesn't fix the no-charge issue, then you have a power jack or mainboard problem.

i dont want to get a dell charger since i know from experience they have poor build quality. i believe my charger works, i dont' have the no charge issue. the ground loop problem which makes all the speakers in my room buzz and the mouse pad hardly works is the thing i mainly want to fix.

3 prong to 2 prong adapter, but I don't recommend it as it could fry the battery.

Alternatively (and safer)

i tried that, and i opened the charger and desoldered the wire completely still has the same issue, i also tested a lot of the connections in the laptop (mainly the power ones) and they all seemed okay. but it doesn't really matter anymore, i charged the battery 5 times now and it last at max 20 mins so its kinda pointless, i dont want to spend any money on it because i dont think its worth it so i'll just have to keep it plugged in all the time. it is fishy it only has issues with the one charger and not the other so i dont think it can be something wrong with the laptop itself.

Thanks for the help guys.
