Refreshed Inspiron 15 7000 Gaming series?

Hi,

I'm looking to buy a laptop very soon (by the end of the year) and I would like to know if a new Inspiron 15 7000 gaming series will be available. The 7559 is from last year.

Would like to know if a refreshed version with 7th generation Core  (kaby lake) and GTX 1060 will be available?

What I'm looking for is a good laptop for gaming, but also for everydays work, so it need to look pretty with great color choice like grey. Don't want something like the Alienware or the Asian 7566 that look ugly.

thx

For a system with a GTX960, SSD and hard drive, it's about $1280 in USD -- that's in the same ballpark as what's clearly its intended competition -- the Lenovo Y700 series.  That runs about $1200 but that's  without the SSD.  Dell has this priced right in line with other low-end gaming systems (from ASUS, MSI, Lenovo, etc.).

I wouldn't pay over 1000 for it since their current gen with the same specs can be had for less *shrug*

I see $1299 for the 16G SSD+HDD version and a 4K screen.

The Kaby Lake CPUs so far released aren't quad core gaming chips -- those are the Kaby Lake-H CPUs, scheduled for release in the first quarter of 2017, so if you're holding for one, you won't see it for six months or so.

When was the 7559 released? In December last year?

I would like to buy the 7559, but since kaby lake is available and reviews are saying the colors on the 7559 are not very good, I'm waiting for something a bit better for the same price. Kaby Lake + 1080p true life color could be great for me with a sharp design.

According to this website wccftech.com/.../

Kaby Lake H is set to be released in December, so maybe refreshed 15 7000 gaming with get an announcement in November for December release?

Maybe, but "launch" and "production ramp" for Intel are usually a few months apart.  I'd guess early Spring 2017 for Kaby Lake gaming systems.

Long wait... I would like to get the 7559, but I read that the colors and brightness are not very good. That's one of the reason I'm waiting for the refresh... Another reason is that my current laptop is black and I'm tired of this color. I would like something grey and clean.

If only Dell could release a teaser of what's coming like the design and possible specs and price range...

They'll never do that - if you need a compromise-gaming system now, the 7559 is it.  Since holiday season is upon us, I doubt you'll see a replacement system arrive until after the first of the year -- or sometime in Q1 2017.

So... It seem the 7566 is the current successor of the 7559, but it's kinda weird, because it has the same specs other than HDMI 2.0 support.

Also, I don't like the "gaming" design they did. I prefer something that look professional like the 7559.

Currently it's becoming available in Europe, so maybe soon in North America, but it's weird there is no announcement on the Dell website about it. Maybe the North America will only get a new refresh with Kaby Lake in January 2017?

If they finally announcing the new version is really the 7566, I will just get the 7559 because of the design.

I read some reviews about bad audio and low color range with the 7559, so was it fixed or not? The recent review are saying it has good audio quality and not talking about colors, so maybe it was fixed right?
