Dell System Client Update (DSCU) doesn't recognize system

Hi,

I recently purchased a Dell Latitude 6430u - besides some fan issues, it's a great system. One thing I am wondering about is the DSCU application, it keeps saying that my system is not supported (both on the Dell pre-install OS and a clean install).

Will this ever be fixed?

Thanks.

What version of DSCU are you running?

Started out with 1.2.8 from the 6430u download section. Ran it once, told me there was an upgrade to 1.3.0 which I accepted - which is the version I'm running now.

yep, that's the latest version. Seems like this is still an ongoing problem with this app. If it was working fine prior to the update then you could revert back to that version. Here is a link in case you need it

Alternatively, I've heard this app is more trouble than it's worth and most users end up disabling it and using Dell's site or Windows Update

Well, I'll leave it installed for now. I was already using Dell's site, but yeah, sometimes it would be nice if it's automated ;-)

Thanks for your response though!

Hi pvanberlo,

You may try uninstalling and reinstalling the application.

Refer the following links which has FAQ’s for Dell Client System Update:

Hi Rajesh,

that didn't work either. Did the re-install, but it still says my model isn't supported. Why is Dell pre-installing and delivering software if it's not even meant for this device?

Thanks.
