Inspiron - boot error 'preparing automatic repair'
Loops for hours. Basic Diagnostic tests show battery is too old. No other finding.

What model systems, and is the system under warranty (and does your warranty cover software support or is it just a basic hardware warranty)?

@ejn63 it's Inspiron 7300 2n1. It's not under warranty any more.
