No mouse in bios

Try resetting the CMOS/BIOS.

Disconnect the AC adapter.

Remove the Main battery.

Remove the Base Cover.

Disconnect the Coin-Cell battery.

Connect the AC adapter for 3-5 seconds.

Disconnect the AC adapter.

Reconnect the Coin-Cell battery.

Reassemble the Base Cover.

Install the Main Battery.

Turn over and attach the AC adapter.

Try to enter BIOS.

Post your results.

Watch this space, I have been running windows 10 on it for two + years with no problems with what I want to do on it eg. Office apps pay my bills, etc.

I have several machines Ryzen 5 for gaming A laptop for general use on my coffee table and a NAS server in the bedroom so I do not have to relie on One drive Which in my opinion is useless and it takes up all your files and gets you to subscribe for extra storage of which I have plenty of old HDD`s in my Nas server.

I just want to have continuity with all my machines.

If I can not get it to run windows 11 I will be installing Linux on it (I want to brush up on a real system anyway).

In addition, I am replacing the Hard drive for a 1Tb Hdd so I shall reset the Bios while I am at it

I do know what I am doing I have built my own computers since DOS and used to sell peripherals To Dell before they moved to Ireland.

As a side note:

Your laptop did not meet the min. req. for W10 and in no way will it meet W11's.

Unless Microsoft relaxes the min. req.'s for W11.

Yes the E5520 would run W10!

But the hardware is limited and cannot take full advantage of W10.

As for W11;

The CPU, TPM, Directx etc. will not meet the min. req.'s.

Will that prevent you from downloading/installing W11 when it is officially released???

That is the question everyone is waiting for???

I have installed W10 on Dual Core systems with no problems!!!

Will it be the same for W11???

I have E6420XFR's that I install W10 on and run with no problems also.

It is a 14" 2nd gen CPU system like your 15" 2nd gen CPU system.

At the moment I have around 750-1000 of these units that I need to sell before W10 is obsolete. [2025]

If Microsoft relaxes the requirements then they still may have a reprieve.

Back to your problem.

Any change???

You have to use the keyboard including the arrow and tab keys for the bios on old computers.

no, it was not.

I wanted a solution before I dug into its innards.

As I was about to replace the HDD I was going to do that anyway.

Again I don`t think you will be in luck the graphics will not handle windows 11 must be 1080p minimum.

You should still be able to move them though?.

depends on what you paid for them if you can make a proffit.
