Delete key has reverse function to that shown on the key

Laptop Inspiron 15 (3537)

The keyboard on this laptop has a 'Delete' key on the bottom left of the number pad. This key is the most useful delete key to use, but for some reason the key, which has a full stop above the DEL - meaning you should use the shift key to get the full stop and be in lower case to get the 'Delete', has the  function in reverse and by pressing Delete (lower case) you get a full stop and only by pressing Shift + DEL do  you get 'delete'..

I believe it is quite easy to reverse this, but I have yet to find out how.

Could someone point me in the right direction, please?

Hi El GeePee,

Thanks for posting.

I'm trying to figure out where this key is located.  Here is a picture of the 3537 keyboard, and I don't see the delete/stop key you are describing.

Regards,
Robert
