 Hi human1111,

You may try connecting an external monitor to see if the issue is with the graphics or the LCD.

Please run the diagnostics. You may try any of the following methods to run the diagnostics:

  • Press and the power button to initiate diagnostics.

Or

  • Shut down and restart the computer.
  • Press the F12 key immediately when the Dell logo appears. The Boot Device list appears.
  • Select Diagnostics and press the Enter key.

Keep me posted with the results. I will be glad to assist you further.

Hello, Kuldeep.

I ran the diagnostics and found no problem, all components are fine.

I will later check the display on an external monitor and report the results to you.

Thanls for the response,,,

Did you load the Intel Chipset driver?

(Deleted)

EDIT: Sorry I did not realize you were running WIn 8 Pro. That driver is not compatible with Win 8.

You might try going to Windows Update and run that to make sure you have the most current and up to date drivers.

Hi human1111,

Please let me know if you have tried connecting to an external monitor.

If there are pixels on the screen, the issue is with the LCD and not the video card; however change in colors could be due to video card or LCD failure.

Keep me posted with the results. I will be glad to assist you further.

Hello Paul and Dell-Kuldeep M ,,,

Finally, I tried connecting my laptop to an external monitor.

The same color problem appears on the eternal monitor if the picture mode is set on Typical, but doesn't appear if it's set on Cinema.

And by the way, I think the more precise description of my problem is that now my laptop monitor has less colors or less color depth.

P.S.

I was recently doubting that my LCD monitor truly had a problem. But my brother who was enjoying viewing his pictures on my laptop confirmed me that it became noticeably worse.

Could this be due to sun exposure or overheat??

Hi human1111,

Overheating of the Video card may cause display issues and the video card to go bad.

Also, as the issue occurs on an external monitor, it could be related to the Video card.

I will request you to please provide a picture or a video of the system display to better understand the issue.

Keep me posted with the information. I will be glad to assist you further.

No, I don't think it occurs in the external monitor. I'm now sure that the problem is with the LCD.

Anyways I uploaded a pack of screenshots to MediaFire http://www.mediafire.com/download/jhcenq941j86q9b/Screenshots.rar

Hi human1111,

If the issue with the display is visible only on the laptop screen and not the external monitor, the issue could be with the LCD.

Unfortunately I am unable to view the link provided by you.

I will try to check the link through some other sources and keep you updated.

Please feel free to reply for any further assistance.
