After using my Latitude D610 last night for about 3 hours straight (which I've done before), while I was editing a word file, the laptop simply shut off. No warning, no buzzing, no noise, no smells - just *click*.

I thought it might have overheaded and needed a rest (it was a little warm, but nothing alarming) so I left it overnight and tried to turn it on today. Tried it with the power cable (which does have the green light) and with just the battery. Nothing. No noise, just dead screen.

I did a few searches and didn't get anything definitive other than 'probably a dead system board'. Is that the general consensus, or can I try a few other things before telling my wife her work laptop died? :(
