Since the E2216H VGA and DP both max to 1920x1080, you should stick to using VGA. Below is why.

Neither HDMI nor DVI can upconvert to a monitor DP via a straight cable. The cables you bought are designed to do the opposite =
Video card DP out to Monitor HDMI in
Video card DP out to Monitor DVI in

Going from the GT 730 DVI out to the monitor DP in requires a converter =
Video card DVI out --> DVI to DP converter --> DP to DP cable --> Monitor DP in

Going from the GT 730 HDMI out to the monitor DP in requires a converter =
Video card HDMI out --> HDMI to HDMI cable --> HDMI in to DP out converter --> DP to DP cable --> Monitor DP in

* There are three 2216H monitor models. Which one is yours? (D2216H, E2216H, S2216H) ?
* What computer model (Desktop or Laptop) ?
* What video card GPU?
* List all the video out ports

Hi,

Thanks for your reply

Its a Dell E2216Hf

Using it with a desktop computer LGA 775 motherboard, Core 2 Duo

The video Card is a Afox VGA GT 730 4GB, DDR3, 128 Bit, 1333 MHz, Core 810 MHz

Ports are HDMI DVI VGA

Monitor works only with the VGA connection

I bought a DP-HDMI and a DP-DVI cable and it did not work, for the record I tried another graphics card and that did not work too

Thanks,

Tolis
