Q. What OS (operating system) is supported with DDM?
A.
DDM 2.0 works with Windows 11/10 build 17763 and above
DDM 1.x works with Windows 11/10/8.1/8/7
macOS DDM  works with 10.14 Mojave, 10.15 Catalina, 11 Big Sur, 12 Monterey on selected monitor models. iMac are not supported.

Q. Does DDM work on all brands of monitors?
A. DDM only works with Dell monitors developed from 2013 and beyond except the Dell D series monitor and some Nvidia G-SYNC based monitor

A. Alienware monitors =
DDM is supported with Alienware AMD FreeSync models that use the standard FreeSync module.

DDM has never been supported with Alienware Nvidia G-Sync models due to compatibility issues with the advanced built-in Nvidia G-Sync module.


Q. Can DDM support more than 2 monitors?
A. Yes. It can support up to 16 monitors (some high end graphics card can support up to 4 external monitors, with 4 such cards DDM can support up to 16 monitors)

Q: Is DDM supported on a VDI Desktop?
A: No. DDM does not work on VDI desktop or virtualized environment.

Q. What video cards are supported by the DDM?
A. DDM is compatible with graphics drivers from major vendors like Nvidia, AMD, and Intel that fully support the Microsoft Monitor Configuration interface.

  • User can assign names to each input and define a shortcut key for quick and easy access to multiple connected devices – useful for programmers and game

How to check for a newer version?
Press/hold the shift key, right click on the DDM system tray icon, select "Check for new version" from the popup menu.

How to run the DDM diagnostic report?
Press/hold the shift key, right click on the DDM system tray icon, select "Save diagnostic report" from the popup menu.

DDPM repair and clean installation

* Open the monitor Menu--> Others
* Run Factory Reset
* Verify that DDC/CI is On
* Exit the monitor Menu

Run the DDPM Repair =
- Go to Settings > Apps > Installed Apps, select DDPM (Dell Display and Peripheral Manager), choose Repair
- When done, retest

If not working after Repair, run the complete uninstall and install =
* Uninstall DDPM and if still listed, the legacy end of life DDM (Dell Display Manager) and DPM (Dell Peripheral Manager) from Settings > Apps
- Restart the computer
- Download and install the latest DDPM
- Restart the computer when finished

* Once the computer is restarted, press Win + R, type services.msc, confirm Dell Core Services is set to Automatic and running

* If still not working and you are still under warranty, click the Get Help Now button at the bottom right of this page to chat with Dell Support and get a unique Technical Support case created

DDPM Windows OS Diagnostics/Reports

* Prior to clicking Get Help Now on the right to chat with Dell Technical Support, gather the Logs
* Go to DDPM--> Settings icon in the upper right corner of the DDPM interface
* In General, go to Reports
* The diagnostic report includes system and monitor related information along with DDPM run time logs. The monitor asset report contains monitor Extended Display Identification Data (EDID) information for all connected monitors


DDPM macOS Logs


Prior to clicking Get Help Now on the right to chat with Dell Technical Support, gather the Logs.

1 –         Collect DDPM logs and USB logs:

              Open Finder and navigate to Log: Get /User/Applications/DDPM/

              Collect the file  - DDPM.log

              Collect all  - DellMonitorSDK-XXX.log  (xxx represent different dates)

 

2 -         crash log collection

              go to launchpad > other >console >Crash Reports > Reveal in Finder >DDPM-xxxx-xx-xx-xxxxx.ips

           

                            

3 -         compress these collected files and share with Dell Get Help Now agent.
