This is info from Chris, regarding 2413, so i suppose that same thing will happen to other screens as this is software issue.

U2413 part number FJMKT has revisions A00, A01, A02
A00 = Initital release
A01 = LCD panel version number change
A02 = corrected the inverse ghosting due to too much response time compensation overdrive and USB 3.0 issues
* We received word that the factory is not changing the PPID serial number label. They are fixing them on their end but it cost too much to generate the new labels. All New U2413 purchases regardless of the revision on the label should have the internal A02 fixes. All Used/Refurbished U2413 Dell Outlet purchases regardless of the revision on the label should also have the internal A02 fixes. Of course, none of the resellers will have these fixed monitors
U2413 part number XTXXK A00 (4/15/13)
A00 = Part number XTXXK includes all of the fixes in the old part number FJMKT, A00/A01/A02. Of course, none of the resellers will have these fixed monitors

Hi,
Just received and installed a replacement for my Dec2012 U2413. I received an Aug2013, Rev00 (but can be anything)
Looks like there IS still inverse ghosting (same as before, perhaps a little less). How do I know what real revision I have? Does it make sense to return it again?
Thanks.

Seems like that's the case.

My replacement monitor is also Aug 2013 (got it today, replaced for another reason), Rev 00 and I can confirm there's still the same ghosting when dragging windows / scrolling web pages I've seen on my previous A00 April 2013. According to other posts that's the case across the board and Dell said they won't be fixing that. The original issue pertained to ghosting in movies/games which I never saw.

I i were you i would change it 50 times if i have, until they send proper screen. If you can get refund and buy u2410 or 2711 these screens are way better than u2413 will ever be. This monitor is around 500 euros in my country, that is really a lot and one can expect at least fully working screen.

the funny/tragic thing it that I wanted to buy a 2410 or a 2711 for years, at the end I found a deal for a 2413 and thought it could only be better than previous one... thus I bought it... great mistake only to have led backlight...

To be honest this screen is better than the previous... The ghosting looks less than before, and at least this has a more uniform color, the old one had green zones in the low left of screen... Unfortunately looks like has less vivid colours, that was the only thing I liked of the old one...

"RTC overdrive on light backgrounds
* This is by design and will not be addressed"
Found here http://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/peripherals/f/3529/t/19507654.aspx
Overdrive is poorly calibrated on the u2713hm monitor also. "If" it's by design... Just wow.

Yesterday for the first time I have seen image retention on the new panel (never seen on the old)
I left the screen for 10-15 minutes without screen saver (never used screen savers on LCD's) with desktop icons visible, then I had a flash player crash on chrome, leaving the purple/violet screen with the "oops". On that scree I could easily see stamping of the icons previously visible...
Never seen this on my original U2413...
Very very bad

Looks similar to my unit. I think this is the "fixed" one because the ghosting is less than on old panel.

Well, time to correct myself :(
Notice the magenta trailing behind the girl? At least this seems to be only visible on light background. This is on A00 manufactured August 2013, in Gaming mode (but the mode doesn't matter I also have it in CAL1).

Well, that's still pretty awful (watch in HD):
