PRIOR to installing any monitor firmware update

Steps for Updating the Firmware For Your Dell Monitor

* A failed monitor firmware update could break the monitor. If your monitor warranty has already expired but the monitor still functions, is it worth the risk? Your call.

* Turn off all non-essential software (Dell Display Manager, Steam, AntiVirus, Teams, Zoom, Discord, etc.)
* Use only one PC and one monitor. 
Disconnect all other monitors from the PC. The only monitor connected to the PC should be the monitor that is getting the firmware update
* 
Disconnect all USB peripherals (keyboard, mouse, drives, etc.) from the monitor
* Reconnect the USB mouse and keyboard directly to the PC USB ports
* Only one video cable is connecting the PC to the monitor
* Connect the USB upstream cable or USB Type-C cable from the PC to the monitor
