S3220DGF, exchanged not supplied with power cable?

Hello,

Yesterday I have received a "new" S3220DGF monitor as a warranty replacement. Please see thread 17 R5, S3320DGF, not working now.

As noted in the Alienware thread, unfortunately it was not supplied with a power cable. Following a reccomendation in that thread, I have seen the video for unboxing the same. Whilst the HDMI/USB cables were in the tray, the power cable wasn't. I have looked elsewhere within the carton.

At the minute , I am using the old power cable from the old monitor to work the new one.

Given that the old monitor has to be returned very soon along with the peripherals, what do I do now?

Can I get a new power cable so that the old unit can be returned with all the pieces from the old one? I would really appreciate a reply today as I am intending to arrange pick up of the old unit with the freight company on Monday 6th September 2021.

Thanks

Obviously I can provide Service Tag numbers if required- let me know.

Hello @Crimson

The old Stand Riser and Stand Base are packed up in the carton ready to be returned with the monitor and cables.

On the instructions I received on the invoice with the replacement monitor I understood that this was what I was supposed to do.

The technician who setup the monitor exchange should have notified you. When a monitor exchange is shipped, we only ship the panel. We should not ship any of the cabling, stand riser, stand base. If you did receive any cabling with the replacement/exchange monitor, it was a mistake. You may keep them. For any monitor exchange, you are supposed to use the original cabling, stand riser, stand base. All you ship back to Dell is the panel.

Hi @DELL-Chris M  thank you for sharing update. Still confused with what was posted in other thread and clarification posted in this thread.

Is a visiting Dell warranty technician assigned to visit customer at home, to remove original panel and then install the replacement panel in this external monitor exchange process?

For a monitor exchange, we never send onsite technicians. Onsite technicians are only sent for Desktops or Laptops if the user purchased onsite warranty. Does that help explain what I said in the other thread?

Johnno, the term they used, "service" is confusing. Dell does not service a monitor. We do not send a technician out to disassemble a monitor and replace a part. We simply exchange the monitor while still under warranty.

All,

With the exception of the power cable, the image above show's what came in the carton with the replacement monitor.

Chris- I note above you said that I may keep the cables that came in the box, but what do I do about the Stand Riser, and Stand Base?  The new Stand Riser  and new Stand Base are now set up on the new monitor and the old ones are packed up in the carton with the old monitor and cables. On the instructions I received on the invoice with the replacement monitor I understood that this was what I was supposed to do.

Please advise

Hi @Johnno thank you for sharing update. A good question.

Struggling to understand why old Stand Riser, and Stand Base should be retained. Is there a valid reason why keeping these old parts is of any use for you? Are you going to sell these old parts on eBay?
