U4025QW, USB-C Plugged/Unplugged message constantly flashing in middle of monitor
I have two computers connected to the U4025QW to use the KVM features. Computer #1 connected through the Thunderbolt 4 connection. Computer #2 connected through Display Port and the USB-C port. Auto-switching is turned off, and computer #2 is correctly set in the KVM settings to use Display Port & USB-C.
When Computer #2 is OFF the messages constantly appear in the middle of the screen when using Computer #1 (Thunderbolt).
If Computer #2 is ON, the message does not appear on Computer #1 (Thunderbolt)
U4024QW is running firmware version M3T104
Any ideas? Otherwise I will need to return the monitor and go back to using my old Dell monitor that did not have this problem. I can see other members posted a similar issue back in 2020 but there is no resolution posted.

Ended up resolving this issue without Dell's help after a lot of troubleshooting. Here is the basic issue, when the connected desktop was powered off, some power is still keeping the motherboard powered at a lower voltage and it still pushed power down the USB-C cable to the Dell monitor built in KVM switch USB-C port. This caused the monitor to keep thinking the USB-C cable was being continuously plugged and unplugged flashing up the on-screen message.
The fix was to edit Windows setting and BIOS settings in the desktop to shut-off power to the USB ports when the desktop was in a 'soft-off' mode -- this is different than hibernate or sleep mode.
I have a Asus motherboard , so after updating the BIOS, I followed the instructions in the link below. Depending on the motherboard and manufacturer the process might be different, but it will get you on the right path:

This was super frustrating so hopefully this helps someone else with the problem!

What older monitor model?
Was it USB-C?
Did it have KVM?
Instead of off, why not use hibernate?
Switch Computer #2 off. Disconnect the USB-C cable from Computer #2. Does the message appear?
2020 threads, link to them.

@DELL-Chris M Thanks for the reply. There are several similar questions about other models here without solutions:

I just purchased the U4025QW. Previously the exact same setup (same computers, same cables, etc.) were setup on a Dell U3223QE (which also has a built in KVM) with no issues. To cut down troubleshooting steps: U4025QW is already running the latest firmware, I have tried with multiple cables for all connections to eliminate possibility of a faulty cable. Windows 11 if fully updated on both computers.
I do not want to leave the second computer in hibernate mode, and not sure that would work -- probably 'sleep' would but I don't want the computer in that state long term.
Switch Computer #2 off. Disconnect the USB-C cable from Computer #2. Does the message appear? With Computer #2 off and USB-C disconnected from back of the computer the message stops. If USB-C is disconnected from back of Computer #2, but not disconnected from back of the monitor, the message also stops. Message only seems to appear when using Computer #1, and Computer #2 is connected with USB-C & DisplayPort but turned off.

See this same issue on multiple Dell monitors reported in 2020 and 2023 (see links above), but none have a resolution for this issue. Anyone have ideas? Seems if Customers are reporting the same issue for several years across multiple products, this is hopefully a priority for Dell to resolve. Yesterday, I tried the 'Get Help Now' Chat on this page but after working through the 'chat bot' to finally get a person, 30 minutes in they told me that the U4025QW does not support connecting two computers?? Ummm... the KVM is a main feature of the monitor.

Read = DPBS (Dell Power Button Sync)
* Open the Menu OSD- Display
* Is Dell Power Button Sync accessible? If yes, set to Off
* Exit the Menu and retest
* If Dell Power Button Sync is not accessible, there is no fix. Set Computer #2 to sleep, but do not turn it off

@DELL-Chris M thank you for the suggestion. My monitor does have that setting and it is already set to OFF. Frustrating because this exact same setup works fine on my Dell U3223QE monitor I was replacing. Looks like I will have to return the U4025QW and look for other options. I was hoping it might just be a defect in my specific unit.
