MLAG Question?
Dear All,
I have 2 new N4032F switch as core and direcly connect to firewall, I'm still confusing to choose between Stack or MLAG. Here my topology.
My question is :
- What the difference between Stack and MLAG?
- What is the recommendation/best practice should I use for this topology? using MLAG or Stacking? Why?
- If Im using MLAG :
a. can the link between PartnerSwitch to CoreSwitch is using mode access?
b. How many partnerSwitch can connect to MLAG domain?
c. Should I'm using MLAG too for link from CoreSwitch to Firewall?
Please kindly need your help.

Hi,
The mlag between partner and core should be a trunk port or general port so it can pass multiple vlans. The number of partner switches is limited to the number of ports on the switch. It probably is more than necceasary for the core to firewall, usually it is used from core to access layer.

So the link between Core to Firewall, we just use the LACP instead of MLAG?

Right, that s normally what I see. I mean you can use MLAG if you want the added redundancy and don’t mind the extra configuration up front.

I'm unable to find any document related to configuring MLAG in 'Dell Force 10 S4810P' switches. Is it possible to deploy MLAG in S4810P switches ???
