Problem with WLan drivers on Dell Inspiron N5010

i have the same issue you are having now.. i have also bought a N5O10 laptop.. which i have problems with Wifi and Webcam installation...i do not have the correct drivers or the hardware on this laptop dosen't seems to be responding.... and yes i tried all those drivers they have uploaded in thailand website... can someone please help me to find correct drivers,,

Dell Inspiron N5010 did not contain any intel or dell wireless device it contains broadcom wireless device. try to search broadcom_wlan_5603506. This is the actual drrivers for this laptop. if you are unable to find it then send me an email at <ADMIN NOTE: Email id removed per privacy policy>. I will send drivers attachment as soon as possible.

If using Windows 7 and you cannot find the Windows 7 drivers, try using the Vista drivers in the Compatibility mode.

Right click on the drivers file, left click properties, left click compatibility. Change the compatibility to Vista. Then right click on the drivers, left click run as administrator.

The Desktop/Notebook Utility needs to be installed first(if applicable), then the chipset drivers. If they are NOT installed first, then the rest of the drivers will fail to install.

Since the operating system was re-installed did you remember to go to drivers and downloads, enter your service tag(DO NOT POST SERVICE TAG here or your post will get deleted, since it contains your personal information), and install these drivers in this order.

Ok after much deliberation trying to solve the very problem you described I have come to the conclusion that Dell has seriously got some driver validation issues. The way I got around the issue was to simply do a manual driver update and point windows in the direction of where the R252544 package was extracted to. This did the trick as Win 7 sorted the whole issues of finding the correct driver and installing it. Like you, I did download all other drivers mention on the Dell support site so while I think it was the R252544 package that contained the working driver I cannot be certain as it could have been one of the other packages. Anyways I am reading the newly installed wireless card as DW1501 Wireless N. My Ethernet card also did not show up at all in the device manager; this was also solved when I restart my laptop only to find Windows say that a new network adapter is installed and automatically installed the driver package which I had earlier tried to install with no effect. This happened suddenly and I can't think of any thing perticular I did for it to suddenly show up as installed hardware. I know it's not much but I hope this helps.

FYI- The 100/1000 Ethernet card shows as a Realtek and not a Broadcom chipset in my Inspiron N5010. Now I am hoping the the Card Reader will decide to show up soon just as my ethernet card randomly did so I can install the appropriate driver for it. After which all hardware accounted for. 

Ok First of all great thanks goes to  Tahseen Baloch and maxpain12 in helping me out to find the drivers for the N5010 Laptops Wireless card..

Well both of the instructions Tahseen and Maxpain12 worked very well.. 1st of all i searched for the Broadcom drivers and came up with the version he told so and i installed them and the missing driver was identified as a Broadcom Wireless device and it worked properly and still i'm using that Driver package for my network card.. and it gets a maximum speed up to 72 Mbit per sec. 

and later i also followed the instruction from maxpain12 and it worked greatly. i installed the all the wireless packages supplied by the download section and i gave the driver location where all those extracted packages were included. then my driver was identified as the DW1501 which exact the same wireless driver which is provided by the dell it self. so i think most appropriate solution is the second one and i still don't know why that it can also be recognize as a Broadcom device too.. somehow when i was using the second method device manager founds another driver called Microsoft Virtual Wireless driver or something like that. but it happened only in that time and i nerver found that Device again.. 

anyway i would like to know which one of these Wireless devices is the best solution for my laptop..so once again many thanks goes for both of you guys..:)..:emotion-1:

This is interesting that you found two different drivers for the same wireless card. I am assuming that the wireless subsystem is using a broadcom chip with a different bios identifier so it shows up as the DW1501 in certain configurations of the N5010 series while in others it is simply identified as a Broadcom device from what you say. Depending on how the driver was coded the Broadcom driver could possibly work for the DW 1501 N if it is the same chipset; but this was not so for mine as only the DW1501 worked. Please note that this is my assumption as I have not physically inspected the two drivers coding or examined the hardware chip for verification, if someone has some insight please share. I think it would be best to go with the Dell advertised network device. For example mine says that it has an DW1501 N on the specification sheet found on the box so I will stick with that. But if you are having better performance with another driver go for it. At the end of the day what works best goes.    

Btw maxpain can you please help me out with the term "Half Lan Mini Card", it's mentioned on the Wireless devices category in my inspiron brand..i just want to know whether it is on my system or not...thanks

"Half Mini" simply means the hardware is half the size of the standard PCI wireless card. So you are looking at a shrunken down version of the standard size. My 1501 Wireless card is also a half mini. Seems like all newer Dell laptops come with this configuration. If it mentions a number of any sort other than the half mini part then that should give you a hint as to what card your system has. "Half Mini" is a very broad term covering many different models so it will be harder to find what your looking for using that term. 

Evidently the DW 1501 Wireless N is just another Broadcom variant. Here you go.

the source if the problem is that the driver version included in n5010 support page is 5.60.48.18, A03 which doesn't support dell wireless card 1501 ,however manual driver update from this version detects the driver but the wireless utility can not work.

the latest version of dell wireless cards drivers is 5.60.48.35 which has the following description "Dell Update Package containing driver and application version 5.60.48.35 supporting DW 1397/1501/1520 WLAN on 32-bit and 64-bit Windows Vista operating systems."

I wish dell support team update the drivers page of dell n 5010 with the new version and add link for dell webcam central utility .

I've recently bought Dell Inspiron N5010 laptop, however there seems to be one small issue: can't get WLan drivers installed. I'm using Windows 7 (64x edition). On Device Manager, under "Other Devices" there is an unknown "Network Controller". Tried installing drivers from Dell Drivers & Downloads section (yes, used my service tag), but there was a problem with following ones: -  R252544 for Dell Wireless WLAN 1520 Half MiniCard. Result: "No compatible hardware found. The software you are attempting to install is not supported on this system. The software will not be installed."  Half Mini Card - R247430 for Intel Intel (R) WiMAX Link 6250. Result: "This software package cannot be installed on your system." - R252283 for Intel Intel(R) WiFi Link 6200 "No compatible hardware found. The software you are attempting to install is not supported on this system. The software will not be installed." All these messages appear right after running setup. Other drivers were installed successfully and in the right order.

I have also problems with walan driver   I try to find the brodcom driver but icouldnot find it so plz send me attchment of this file so i can install walan driver
