Problem with WLan drivers on Dell Inspiron N5010
I've recently bought Dell Inspiron N5010 laptop, however there seems to be one small issue: can't get WLan drivers installed.
I'm using Windows 7 (64x edition). On Device Manager, under "Other Devices" there is an unknown "Network Controller".
Tried installing drivers from Dell Drivers & Downloads section (yes, used my service tag), but there was a problem with following ones:
- R252544 for Dell Wireless WLAN 1520 Half MiniCard. Result: "No compatible hardware found. The software you are attempting to install is not supported on this system. The software will not be installed." Half Mini Card
- R247430 for Intel Intel (R) WiMAX Link 6250. Result: "This software package cannot be installed on your system."
- R252283 for Intel Intel(R) WiFi Link 6200 "No compatible hardware found. The software you are attempting to install is not supported on this system. The software will not be installed."
All these messages appear right after running setup. Other drivers were installed successfully and in the right order.

Please go to intel.com & click on menu support & find my drivers it will help you further
or else you can check in pcidatabase.com with device id & vendor ID & you can find appropriate drivers

amarfire1600,
Did you recently install/reinstall the operating system?
What is the make and model of your wireless router and the type of security? What channel?
What virus program and firewall are you using?
Can you run an ipconfig /all log and post it back here.

I have faced exactly same issue after I have installed Win 7 on a new hard disk.
I could not use dell recovery disk because they have hard coded partition size and you must have HDD up to 500 GB which is highly stupid. Setup must ask you partition size. I am software Technical Architect with 14 years of experience. This is a usability issue.
I had another HDD with lower size but definately enough to install win7. So I did install it and everything was fine but wireless adapter was a problem. Mine was 32 bit OS. So first make sure what your OS is.
Then go to following link
http://ftp.dell.com/Pages/Drivers/inspiron-15-intel-n5010.html#Chipset
Then download following from network drivers
null
Install it and your Wireless should be up. Also Make sure your wireless key is switched to on.
See following screen shot after installing Wireless Drivers on dell inspiron N5010 32 bit

Hello again,
I finally solved my problem with my wireless. It`s all about a service that was not started by Windows and that stopped my wireless. Please chech with the services installed on your PC and set to automatically start WLAN Auto Config service. Thanks to a software called Wireless Mon that helped my with this problem. Now everything works very well.
Hope this will help.
Bye.
