Find the 5 pin power switch connector on motherboard. it looks like this.
It is not part of front panel header where the ribbon cable is connected.

You can by shorting the 2 pins on the MB connector where the MB connector plugs in. That can be a bit tricky to spot on a Dell MB. This video and this one should help. Also have a look at this web page.
