No display and 1-3-2 beep code
I'm building pc using Dell Optiplex 7010 SFF motherboard but I'm having problem with what seems to be bad RAM. My specs are Intel I5 2400, GeForce 9500 GS, 2x Atermiter 4gb DDR3 RAM and 350W PSU. When I plug in my build it doesn't display on my TV screen and I can hear beep 1-3-2 which I found out means memory failure. I tried reseating RAM, putting 1 stick in each of the slots, taking out CMOS battery for 5 minutes and reseting BIOS using jumper but it didn't work. I read that Dell doesn't support ECC and high density ram. My RAM sticks have 8 chips on each side (so 16 in total on each stick) and if it was ECC it would have 1 or 2 more, but I'm not really sure what low or high density means. I was able to read that it depends on how much chips RAM stick have and that high density should have 512mb on each chip while low density only 256 but my RAM is 4gb with 16 chips so shouldn't that mean that it's low density and should be compatible with Dell Optiplex 7010 SFF motherboard?

Quad rank high density ram is easily available.
Does not have to be ECC to be registered
1 RANK = 64bit width (or 72bit with ECC) RANK doesnt auto mean ECC
Single Rank = 64bit
Double Rank = 64bit + 64 bit
Quad Rank = 64bit + 64 bit + 64bit + 64 bit
You did not say what brand or part number. of ram or post a picture.
Doesnt have to be crucial if the spec is correct
DDR3 PC3-12800 • CL=11 • Unbuffered • NON-ECC • DDR3-1600 • 1.35V • 1024Meg x 64 •
8GB DDR3 PC3-12800 2rx8 1.35v NON-ECC DESKTOP Memory Module (240-pin DIMM 1600MHz)
https://www.amazon.com/Kuesuny-DDR3L-1600-PC3L-12800-PC3L-12800U-Unbuffered/dp/B07NKXD61P/
1R = single rank
2R = dual rank
4R = Quad Rank

4 GIG modules are
DDR3 PC3-12800 • CL=11 • Unbuffered • NON-ECC • DDR3-1600 • 1.35V • 512Meg x 64 •
Single or Dual Rank does not matter but YOU CANNOT MIX Ranks.
Density Cannot be determined visually by the number of chips which is why 1R or 2R is fine 4R is not.

1.35V ram is the newer standard
in other words it works in 1.35v or 1.5v situations.
When you MUST HAVE 1.35v ram you MUST USE universal DUAL VOLTAGE Ram or it DOES NOT EVER WORK.
JEDEC standard 1.35V (1.28V ~ 1.45V) Compatible
JEDEC standard 1.5V (1.425V ~ 1.575V) not working
End of story. Nothing to do with any particular brand. However mixing various brands is not recommended.

And what does that mean? Aren't registered and quad rank RAM only when RAM is ECC? Is there other way than buying RAM from crucial to find out which RAM will be compatible?

Thanks a lot for the help but I also would like to ask how can I tell if RAM is 1024Meg x64? Does it have something to do with numer of chips? And do I also need 1024Meg x64 in 4GB RAM?

The sticker on RAM says 4GB DDR3 1600MHz PC3-12800-CL 11 DIMM-1.5V and it's Atermiter RAM.
So everything is fine except that there is 1.5V instead of 1.35V?
So I need to look for RAMs with these specs but how can I tell if it's 1024Meg x64? I can't find that information anywhere.

Careful Speedstep. You may blow a fuse. Can't we just direct him to crucial?
Crab shacks sometimes sell good memory. You might even get Dell or Crucial brands at these sleezy joints.

Please just buy what the man says you should. Do you want to be responsible for someone having a coronary and dying ???
You can fix your computer and things later. If you kill a rock star ... Oh I don't want to think about that.

The problem is that Crucial doesn't ship to my country and only 1 of the RAMs recomended can be shipped there but it's 8gb and I want to get 2x 4gb RAM because it'll be faster than using a single 8gb RAM that I'm never going to upgrade. I wanted to find out what I should be looking for and I can understand everything except 1024Meg/512Meg x64. I can't find any information about it that would be clear to me and it's almost never said in the specs of RAM and I don't know if I should really care about it that much because every RAM that meets the rest of the specs looks exactly the same.

Can maybe the reason for it not working be GHz and not the voltage? I've looked at my cpu Intel I5 2400 specs and it says it supports only 1333GHz and will work with 1.5V. I know that some motherboards will underclock the ram to 1333GHz but I am not sure if Dell motherboard will do it. Also I've seen few posts of people using 1.5V ram in Dell Optiplex 7010 SFF.

try use another 1.5V DDR3 1333/1600 x 2 to test
