Optiplex 3080 fan noise after bios update to 2.1.1

I had this problem when I upgrade to1.3.2 which ı have sorted out by downgrading to 1.3.1

Now unfortunately system does not allowed me to downgrade back to 1.3.1.

I can only downgraded to Bios 2.0.2 which did not solved the problem.

Any body else have the  same problem? Any solution or recommendation ???

I had the same issue. 1800 rpm when idle. Couldn't find a solution in Windows, other than hdwinfo64 but that doesn't start automatically on boot.

Ended up installing Linux Manjaro and configured fan control software. Now runs at 850rpm and starts automatically on boot and from sleep.

No more migraines and nausea. Don't understand why they don't allow more options in the bios.

It seems that one of the temperature sensor is constantly showing a 126 degrees temperature for one of the cores - maybe this what's causes the fan to operate at 1800rpm all the time-

Dell support, any update on this annoying issue? Many customers bought this pc because they trusted a Dell would be a good purchase, but they were wrong! The fan drones very loudly even when the pc is idle! Please fix this issue asap!

Hi Dell contact me in PM to diagnose what could be happen.

They ask me a lot of test .

Now they ask me the System Health tab in Bios.

Probably all of you must share a pics of this tab where fan speed are explicitly mentionned.

Hi,

I see you reported an issue with the Dell laptop and as per your last message, it appears it was not working fine. I'm checking to see if you require any further technical assistance after trying the steps suggested in the previous message. We shall wait to hear from you.

Too late - I have returned my DELL MFF 3080 back to the store, using the DOA procedure.

I was very disappointed from it !

I need a psychologist to get this fan sound out of my brain

Does Dell really have a solution to this problem?
If not, announce here so that we can throw our devices in the trash

Hello, After 1 month to discuss with support to fulfill informations, my heatsink/fan and power were changed without any improvement.

Conclusion: "We have an update from the product engineering team and they have confirmed that there are no issues on the system and is working as designed." My next tiny pc will not be a Dell.

I removed the fan-unit from my 3080-MFF and turned it a quarter-turn in order to put the cooling fins of the heatsink in a vertical position. I glued 2 legs on the sides to give some space to the hanging cables.

I installed HWmonitor and keep an eye on the temperature.

The heatsink doesn't get hot with modest use and I don't any sound at all.
